Check out these new videos from the New England Basketball Hall of Fame Induction Weekend & Gold Medal Ceremonies

New England Basketball Hall of Fame Induction Weekend Activities

The New England Basketball Hall of Fame held a series of activities over the weekend of August 7 and 8, 2015 in Worcester, MA. Nearly 1,800 people attended the dinner and induction ceremony at the DCU Center on August 8. On the previous day, the NEBHOF hosted the first annual Boston versus Worcester High School Scholar-Athlete Games at the iconic St. Mary's High Gymnasium, home court of the 1964 New England Champions. Check out the highlight reel of the Scholar-Athlete game, the wonderful senior women's game, and a halftime ceremony featuring Dee Rowe.

Activities also included 45-minute presentations by Hall of Famers Dave Cowens and David Thompson, former Boston College star Jim Sweeney, who addressed for the first time in a public forum the 1979 scandal at Boston College. Red Sox legend Bill Lee also presented, as part of his role in helping announce the expansion of the New England Basketball Hall of Fame to other sports, including baseball.

The four presentations will be posted to YouTube beginning in January and announced on my Facebook page and the New England Basketball Hall of Fame website.

Gold Medal Ceremonies

On November 17, 2015, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh hosted the first of what will be eight New England Basketball Hall of Fame Gold Medal Ceremonies. The ceremonies are being held to present NEBHOF gold medals to the 2015 honorees. Watch the highlights of the Mayor's reception.

"Stay Relevant" CD off to a GREAT START! Here is more information.

Stay Relevant, a CD by Dan Doyle
(Three years in the making!)

Marie O'Regan Doyle always wanted her middle child to sing.  In autumn 2012, Dan Doyle acted on the long ago wish of his late mother. Facing overwhelming pressure from a State of Rhode Island investigation of his work at his beloved Institute for International Sport, which he founded in 1986, (an investigation now correctly seen by innumerable people as a horrific witch hunt), Doyle made an appointment at Tape Works in Hartford, where he recorded several Johnny Cash and Frank Sinatra songs.

Encouraging feedback from the music community resulted in Doyle deciding to take the next step. That step, and the many others that followed, has resulted in Doyle's CD, Stay Relevant, being released worldwide today on CD Baby, iTunes, other electronic means, and in the form of a special autographed version on hard disc.

The CD contains 11 original songs that Doyle wrote, composed and recorded. DanDoyleMusic.com provides details of the songs, including snippets of each song, as well as the role that Dan's rage played in moving the project to fruition. Stay Relevant is one of several new assets Doyle has created to keep the Institute for International Sport operational until his case is adjudicated.

Great Reception from the Entertainment Industry

Acclaimed musician, platinum engineer and producer Gordon Bahary, who has his “right touch” on over 35 million albums sold, including those of Stevie Wonder, states:

“Dan Doyle’s album is a work of a visionary and true artist. A beautiful collection of songs.  Dan bares his soul for all of us.  His strong messages are badly needed today.  A blessed piece of work -- brilliant.”

Acclaimed actor Marc Carver, who recently played the role of Dick Lehr in the movie Black Mass, states:

“After listening to a pre-cut of the CD, I wanted to give my girlfriend an idea of what Dan’s amazing songs were like. I played one of the songs, ‘A Parent’s Message’ for her. The original song is about selflessness and steadfast love. When the song ended, we sat smiling silently with tears on our cheeks. Dan’s voice is a one-of-a-kind narrative-style in theater and music.”

Acclaimed Entertainer Rob Gottfried, “Rob the Drummer” states:

"An incredible triumph at so many levels. Dan is a Titan with warmth and the CD is a statement about who he really is. INSPIRING!"

Acclaimed recording artist Dianne Mower states:

“The powerful messages in each song remind us of our purpose in life, and that all of us, regardless of age, still have lots of work to do. Anyone seeking ideas to enhance their lives, and the lives of others, can start with this CD.”
